William Roy “Bill” Cash, 73, of McCook, NE, formerly of Mullen, NE, passed away at the McCook Community Hospital on Friday, October 2, 2015.

Bill was born March 19, 1942, to Roy Edward and Charlotte Blanche Govier Cash at Marshfield, OR. In 1949 Bill and his mom moved to Broken Bow, NE, where he attended school. He joined the U.S. Marines in April 1959 and served two tours in Vietnam, one from 1960-62 the other from 1965-66. During his second tour he was awarded a Purple Heart. Bill later served as the Range Coordinator at Edison Range at Camp Pendleton, CA in 1967 then finished his career as Marine Liaison to Camp Pendleton Hospital. Bill was honorably discharged in 1970 after 11½ years in the military. Following his discharge he moved to Mesa, AZ for three years.

In 1962 Bill married Pam Milligan and they later divorced. He eventually returned to Broken Bow and was united in marriage to Theresa Elizabeth Skillings on January 24, 1976. They lived in Broken Bow for many years and Bill drove a truck, traveling from coast-to-coast and into Canada. In 1988 they moved to Mullen, NE where Bill worked for Outasite Company, Vinton Cattle Company and Hooker County until he retired.

After retiring Bill enjoyed golfing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion Post #109 in Mullen and a life member of DAV Chapter Custer #41.

Bill leaves behind his wife of nearly 40 years, Theresa, of McCook; children, Jack (Jan) Cash, Tina (Mark) Cummins, and Judy (Mike) Cacy, all of McCook, and Thomas Cash, of North Platte; eight grandchildren, Amber (Andy) Dodd and Daniel (Stephanie) Cash, all of Ft. Smith, AR, Nathan Cummins, Samantha Cummins, Ethan Cacy and Hope Cacy, all of McCook, and Abbygale Cash and Ariah Cash, both of North Platte; two great-grandchildren, Kyleigh and Rebekah Dodd, of Ft. Smith, AR; sister, Nan Mathison, of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Charlotte Cash; and a brother, James Cash.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. (CT) Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore with Pastor Jack Govier officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Riverside Cemetery north of Hershey, NE. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (CT) Tuesday with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 (CT) at Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore which is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Mullen Golf Course at Mullen, NE or Community Hospital Home Health and Hospice at McCook.
