NPCC Lady Knight Volleyball Goes 1-1 on Final Day of Triton Invite

makenna ketterThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team finished their regular season by going one and one on the final day of the Triton Invitational.

The Lady Knights finish the regular season with a 15-21 record.

The first match of the day was against the Iowa Lakes Community College Lakers.  The Lady Knights were defeated by the Lakers in three sets 25-18, 25-17, 25-19. Jessica Lovitt and MaKenna Ketter led the Lady Knights with seven kills in the match. Shelby Wolever had 28 set assists and Megan Chintala added 21 defensive digs.  Chintala also had seven service points and one service ace.

The Lakers are 30-9 on the season.

In the second match of the tournament, the Lady Knights defeated Ellsworth Community College in three sets. 25-21, 25-11, 25-22.

The Lady Knighs were led by Samantha Morgan with 14 kills.  Ketter added 10 kills for the Lady Knights.  Wolever had 46 set assists.  Chintala and Aryn Meisinger each had 16 defensive digs.  Meisinger had 14 service points and two service aces.  Morgan had three service aces.

The two service aces for Meisinger gives her 63 on the season and 115 in her career which places her tied for 12th on the season service aces all-time list and seventh on the career service aces list.

The Lady Knights will host the National Junior College Athletic Association Region IX Division II Volleyball tournament next weekend, Oct 30-31.  The Lady Knights will be the second seed and will play the number three seed, Southeast Community College.  The number one seeded team is the Central Community College Lady Raiders.  It is a double elimination tournament with the winner advancing to the District playoff for a chance to advance to the National tournament.
