Lincoln – Nebraska once again ranked among the nation’s best in men’s college basketball attendance, as the 2015-16 NCAA figures were released on Wednesday.

The Huskers ranked 11th nationally, averaging 15,429 fans per game at Pinnacle Bank Arena last season. It marked the second-highest total in school history, and the third straight year the Huskers averaged over 15,000 fans per game at Pinnacle Bank Arena.  NU also set a single-season record in total attendance with 277,739 fans, breaking the record of 249,101 set in 2014-15.

Nebraska is one of only nine schools nationally – and one of three Big Ten schools – to average at least 15,000 fans in each of the last three seasons.

The Big Ten led the nation in attendance for the 40th straight season, eclipsing three million fans for the second straight season. The Big Ten, which totaled 3,105,265 fans in 2015-16, also easily led the nation in average attendance at 12,555 fans per game.  Big Ten was the only conference to eclipse three million fans in basketball attendance in 2015-16.

Seven of the top-20 season averages were Big Ten schools (Maryland-5th; Wisconsin-6th; Indiana-7th; Nebraska-11th; Michigan State-13th; Iowa-19th; Purdue-20th).  In addition, only four conferences – the Big Ten, Southeastern, ACC and Big 12, averaged more than 10,000 fans per game in 2015-16.
