NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball Goes 2-1 at McCook Invite

NPCC Knights LogoMcCook – The North Platte Community College Lady Knights Volleyball team travelled to McCook on Friday and won two out of three matches.

All three matches were best two out of three sets.

In the first match of the day, the Lady Knights defeated the Hesston College Lady Larks in three sets, 25-14, 19-25, 25-20.

Josie Palmer led the Lady Knights in kills with 10 kills.  Shelby Wolever had 13 set assists and Megan Chintala finished the match with 15 defensive digs. Antonya Schaffert had 12 service points to lead the Lady Knights.

In the second match of the day, the Lady Knights were trying to avenge a loss from the Subway Invite to the Colby Community College Lady Trojans, but fell short losing in two sets, 23-25 and 25-27.

Palmer and Jessica Lovitt led the Lady Knights with six kills each.  Wolever finished the match with 15 set assists.  Schaffert led the Lady Knights again in service points with six, and also led with 20 defensive digs in the match.

The final match of the day for the Lady Knights, they were able to avenge an earlier loss to the McCook Community College by defeating them in two sets, 25-18 and 25-15.

Palmer again led the Lady Knights attack with seven kills.  Wolever had 13 set assists and Chintala had 14 defensive digs.  Brooklyn Krehmeyer led the Lady Knights with eight service points.

Lady Knights Head Coach Alexa McCall said, “Today was a good day. We still have to work on being more consistent and aggressive throughout a game.”

The Lady Knights, 3-6 on the season, return to action at home on Wednesday, Sep 7 against McCook Community College.  It will be the third meeting between the two schools in the early season.
