NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball Defeats Southeast

NPCC Knights LogoBeatrice – The North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team started out slow, but went on to defeat the Southeast Community College Lady Storm 17-25, 25-19, 25-18, and 25-22 in Region IX Division II action.

The Lady Storm started out the first set with a 7-1 lead, heading to the first set victory.

In the second set, the score was 11-10 in favor of the Lady Knights.  North Platte finished out the set on a 14-9 run.

In the final set, the score was tied later in the match at 17 and 20.  The Lady Knights outscored the Lady Storm 5-2 to win the set and the match.

The Lady Knights are now 7-9 on the season, and 1-0 in Division II play.  Jessica Lovitt led the Lady Knights in kills with 17. Josie Palmer added 12 kills. Megan Chintala had 19 defensive digs and Shelby Wolever had 43 set assists for the Lady Knights.

Lady Knights Head Coach Alexa McCall said, “This was a good Region IX win for us. We have to find a way to start and finish a game. That is what is going to take us to the next level.”

The Lady Storm fall to 3-13 on the season.

The Lady Knights will return to McDonald-Belton Gymnasium on Thursday, Sept. 22 to face another Region IX Division II opponent, Central Community College.  The match will began at 6 p.m.
