NPCC Lady Knights volleyball fall to Eastern Wyoming

npccNorth Platte – The North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team were defeated by the Eastern Wyoming College Lady Lancers in three sets on Wednesday night, 25-18, 25-18, and 25-20.

The Lady Lancers started out the match leading 6-1. The Lady Knights rallied to tie the score at 11, but Eastern Wyoming regained the lead at 15-11. They never trailed in rest of the set.

The second set was closer throughout the set, but Eastern Wyoming pulled away to take the set.

The Lady Knights fall to 8-15 on the season. Shelby Wolever, Jessica Lovitt, and Antonya Schaffert each had four kills to lead the Lady Knights. Wolever also had 15 set assists for the Lady Knights. Megan Chintala had 11 defensive digs in the match. Cheyanne Kuhlman had seven service points to pace the Lady Knights.

The Lady Lancers improved their record to 16-5 with the victory.

The Lady Knights will travel to Columbus this weekend to participate in the Jimmy Johns Invite. They will play Bismarck State on Friday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m., Fort Scott Community College at 8 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 8, they will have a rematch with Kansas City (Kan) Community College at 2 p.m., then will play Cowley County at 4 p.m.

Lady Knights Head Coach Alexa McCall said, “We have a big weekend ahead of us so we need to pick our heads up and compete.”
