Marvin A. Hansen

Marvin A. Hansen, 77, of North Platte passed away March 7, 2019 at Linden Court.  He was born on May 27, 1941 in Rural Lincoln County, NE to Leslie and Marguerite (Sowle) Hansen.

Marvin graduated from Curtis Ag. High School in 1959.  He worked on a farm for Kenny and Wilma White, who became like family to him.  On August 7, 1966 he married Vivian “Bee” Cassell in Stapleton.  The couple moved to North Platte where he went to the Vo Tech and became a Heating and Air Technician.  They moved to Oberlin, Kansas where they owned and operated their own business, Hansen Plumbing Inc. for over 70 years.  After his retirement, they moved to North Platte to be closer to family.

Marvin was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in North Platte, Faith Lutheran in Oberlin, where he was a past council president, and a member of the Antique Car Club in Oberlin.  He was a very hard worker, who was honest and genuine.  He had a strong faith and was the rock of his family.  He was generous with family and friends, and always gave of himself when he could.  Marvin worked hard his entire life with a smile on his face, pride in his work, and a good word for everyone.

Survivors include his wife, Bee Hansen of North Platte; sons, Mark (Cammi) Hansen of Castle Rock, CO, and Michael (Nancy) Hansen of North Platte; grandchildren, Kaycie (David) Naglowsky of Castle Rock, CO, Sydnee Hansen, Alex (Charity) Hansen all of North Platte, Max Hansen of Kearney, Brittlyn Hansen, Brandon Kayley both of Castle Rock, CO, and Cody Wright and Cole Wright both of North Platte; greatgrandchild, Aerick Naglowsky; siblings,
Thorval (Artis) Hansen of Brady, and Norma Lee Hansen of Superior, NE; sisters-in-law, Kathy Hansen of Moorefield, Ne and Janey Jacobson of Wolbach, NE; special friends, Dorothy LaBargee of Maxwell, Don Haws of North Platte, and the Thursday morning Bible Class.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ella and brother-in-law, Gerald “Judd” Lenz; brother, Harley Hansen; brother -in-law, Bill Cassell; nephews, Jim Bob Cassell, and Landon Dodson; and Kenneth and Wilma White.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with the Reverend John Mappa officiating.  Burial will be in the McCain Cemetery near Stapleton.  Visitation will be noon – 6:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
