Update 4/11/19

The NDOT says the community of Lexington is out of space for travelers to park. As a result, Interstate 80 and Highway 30 are now closed to westbound traffic at Kearney.

Here are the latest road closing from NDOT:

I-80 Closed for Eastbound travel From the I-76 and I-80 Junction to Ogallala and East to Lexington.

I-80 Closed for Westbound travel From Lexington West to I-76 & I-80 Junction.

Hwy 30 Closed Lexington West – route is impassable

Update 4/10/19 9:00 p.m.

Because accommodations are full in Ogallala, the NDOT has moved the closure of I-80 east to North Platte.

I-80 and US Highway 30 are now both closed to westbound traffic at North Platte.

In what is likely to be a common theme over the next 36 hours, the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) has announced more road closures in Western Nebraska.

According to a news release from NDOT, US Highway 30 is now closed to westbound traffic at Big Springs and Interstate 80 is now closed from the Wyoming border to Interstate 76 in both directions.

Road closures will likely continue as lodging and other accommodations become full or unavailable due to the winter storm.

Travel is not advised. Road conditions are always available at www.511.nebraska.gov.
