Lorene Huebner (1925-2019)

Lorene Huebner, 93, of Hershey passed away April 25, 2019 at Linden Court.

Lorene was born June 10, 1925 in rural Hershey to Clarence and Ida (Johnson) Runner.

Lorene graduated from Hershey Public Schools in 1943 and attended the Nebraska State Teachers College in Kearney.

On October 30, 1946 she married Lloyd “Slick” Huebner at the Hershey Methodist Church.  He preceded her in death September 20, 1987.

Lorene had many hobbies which included sewing, knitting, playing piano and organ, attending sporting and school events of her children and grandchildren, and furniture restoration.  She was a volunteer for many years at the Lincoln County Historical Museum, was active in the Hershey Centennial Committee, and enjoyed sharing her memories of the North Platte Canteen.  Lorene was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Mary (George) Binger.

Survivors include her children, John T. (Lisa) Huebner of Hershey, Marcia (Don) Colvin of North Platte, Mark (Lee) Huebner of North Platte, and Ann Keenan of Oak Park, CA; brothers, Blaine (Betty) Runner of Sutherland and Robert (Jane) Runner of Hyannis; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested in her name to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, or to the Lincoln County Historical Society.  Online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2019 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Pastor Robert Deardoff officiating.  Burial will be at the Trinity Cemetery near Hershey.  Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Sunday with family receiving friends at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
