NPCC Lady Knights to Compete in Triton Invitational

triton inviteThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team will close out their regular season this weekend when they travel to Fort Dodge, Iowa to participate in the Triton Invitational on the campus of Iowa Central Community College.

Estrada leads Blue Jays over Royals 7-1 to force ALCS Game 6

kc-royalsTORONTO (AP) — Marco Estrada pitched one-hit ball into the eighth inning, giving Toronto’s tattered bullpen a rest and leading the Blue Jays over the Kansas City Royals 7-1 Wednesday to close to 3-2 in the American League Championship Series.

Creighton hoping transfers Watson, Huff can spark turnaround

Shepard Claims Preseason Big Ten Freshman Honor

Lincoln – Nebraska’s Jessica Shepard has been named the Preseason Big Ten Freshman of the Year for women’s basketball in 2015-16 by College Sports Madness.

Shepard, a 6-4 forward from Fremont, Neb., is the highest ranked recruit in Nebraska history and arguably the best high school player the state has ever produced, Shepard competed on the gold-medal winning USA Basketball team at the 2014 FIBA Americas U18 Championships. NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball Fall to Northeastern

The North Platte Community College Lady Knights were defeated by the Northeastern Junior College Plainswomen in three sets 25-16, 25-18, 25-13 on “Sophomore Night” at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium.

Royals rout Blue Jays 14-2, 1 win from World Series return

kc-royalsTORONTO (AP) — Ben Zobrist hit a two-run homer on knuckleballer R.A. Dickey’s fourth pitch of the game, Alex Rios connected an inning later and the Kansas City Royals routed the Toronto Blue Jays 14-2 Tuesday to move one win from a second straight World Series.

Royals’ Cueto accuses Blue Jays of stealing signs in Game 3

kc-royalsTORONTO (AP) — Kansas Royals pitcher Edinson Volquez says teammate Johnny Cueto believes the Toronto Blue Jays were stealing signs in their Game 3 victory Monday night in the American League Championship Series.

Rockies bring back coaching staff for 2016 season

colorado-rockiesDENVER (AP) — The Colorado Rockies will bring back their coaching staff for the 2016 season after a year in which they finished last in the NL West.

Two weeks after manager Walt Weiss said he was returning to the bench, the team announced Tuesday there will be no major changes to his staff. Those coming back include bench coach Tom Runnells, hitting coach Blake Doyle, pitching coach Steve Foster, third base coach Stu Cole, first base coach Eric Young, defensive positioning coach Rene Lachemann and bullpen coach Darren Holmes. Confidence is Key for Husker Offense

Lincoln, Neb. – The Huskers practiced for just under two hours in half pads Tuesday afternoon. The offense practiced inside Memorial Stadium and the defense practiced on the Ed and Joyanne Gass practice fields in preparation for the Northwestern game this Saturday. Offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf spoke with the media following practice.

Huskers Turn Attention to Northwestern

Lincoln, Neb. – The Nebraska football team practiced for just over 90 minutes on Monday afternoon in sweats inside the Hawks Championship Center in preparation for its game against the Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday.
