The Husker women’s basketball team shoots for a seventh straight win tonight as they host Ohio State. Nebraska’s sixth straight win was a one-point victory at Iowa Monday night. The win streak includes a 62-53 win over the Buckeyes in Columbus two weeks ago. Ohio State has won their last three since that defeat. Tipoff at the Devaney Center is set for 8:06.

Lady Knights Fall, But Knights Scrape Out Win Against McCook
The North Platte Knights and Lady Knights entertained McCook last night at McDonald-Belton Gymnasium. In the women’s game, the shorthanded Lady Knights kept it close all night, but the Lady Indians were able to hold them off for a 70-61 victory. Jordan Dickerson and Candace Shelton led the Lady Knights with 11 points. The defeat is their fifth in a row and drops them to 12-12 on the season. The men’s game saw the Knights fall behind by 18 points in the first half, but they clawed their way back and outlasted the Indians 77-65. Five Knights scored in double figures in the win. Damon Brown led the way with 18 points, and Ben Wilson delivered a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Knights improve to 21-5 with the victory. The Knights and Lady Knights host Southeast Friday night and Central Saturday in their final home games of the season.
No. 1 Hoosiers Rout Huskers
It was close at the half, but the Husker men’s basketball team couldn’t stay with number one Indiana all night. The Hoosiers broke away in the second half to defeat the Huskers 76-47 in Bloomington. Nebraska led at the midway points of the first half and was within nine points at the break, but the Hoosiers scored the first seven points of the second half and put the game away with a 15-2 run midway through the half. Dylan Talley led the Huskers with 16 points. The Huskers host eighth-ranked Michigan State Saturday night.

BASKETBALL: Lincoln County Teams Roll to Subdistrict Finals
Five Lincoln County girls basketball teams have advanced to play in subdistrict championship games. The Hershey Lady Panthers and St. Patrick’s Lady Irish will play each other in the C2-11 final. Hershey topped Perkins County 54-29 and St. Pat’s cruised past Dundy County-Stratton 59-37. It will be the fourth meeting of the year between the two rivals, with Hershey having taken the last two after St. Pat’s won the first one. The Sutherland Lady Sailors advanced to the D1-11 final by routing SMC 48-22. In the D2-9 subdistrict, the Brady Lady Eagles hammered Bertrand 61-40 to advance. And in the D2-10 subdistrict, the Wallace Lady Wildcats moved on with their third win in three tries over Hayes Center, 53-38. Subdistrict championship games will be held across the state Thursday night.
Knights, Lady Knights Host McCook (LISTEN LIVE on ESPN Radio 1410)
Tonight at McDonald Belton Gymnasium, the North Platte Community College Knights and Lady Knights host McCook in Region IX action. The Lady Knights take the floor for the first time in 11 days hoping to snap a four-game losing streak and get revenge for a 17-point loss at McCook earlier this season. The Knights men hope to stay atop the South sub-region and get a season sweep over the Indians. The women’s game starts at 5:30 with the men following at 7:30. ESPN Radio 1410 will have all the action, with pregame coverage starting at 5:15.
Huskers Visit No. 1 Indiana
The Husker men’s basketball team faces their toughest task of the season tonight, as they trek to Bloomington to take on the top-ranked Indiana Hoosiers. It’s Nebraska’s first visit to fabled Assembly Hall since 1974. The Huskers are coming off their third Big Ten win of the season, a 14-point triumph over Penn State on Saturday. Indiana rolled over Ohio State on Sunday and is 9-2 in the conference. Tipoff tonight is scheduled for 6:01.
Hooper Wins Player of the Week Honor For Second Straight Week
Nebraska junior forward Jordan Hooper won her second consecutive Big Ten Player of the Week Award for her performance in two road wins last week. Hooper scored 19 points and snagged 7 rebounds in a win at Northwestern, and topped that with 29 points and 8 rebounds in the Huskers’ narrow win at Iowa Monday night. It’s the sixth Player of the Week honor of Hooper’s career. The Huskers host Ohio State Thursday night.
Huskers Tabbed For Runner-Up Finish in Big Ten
The preseason poll of Big Ten baseball coaches predicts a second place finish for the Huskers in their second season in the league. The Huskers were fourth in the league last year and return 20 letterwinners. Three players were picked as Players to Watch: pitchers Brandon Pierce and Dylan Vogt and outfielder Michael Pritchard. Indiana is the preseason pick to win the league.
