Boldt Taken in Second Round by Tampa Bay

Lincoln – Nebraska junior outfielder Ryan Boldt was selected in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday night, the No. 53 overall pick in the Draft. Boldt is the highest drafted Husker since 2006 when Joba Chamberlain was a first-round pick by the New York Yankees. Huskers Among NCAA Leaders in Attendance in 2015-16

Lincoln – Nebraska once again ranked among the nation’s best in men’s college basketball attendance, as the 2015-16 NCAA figures were released on Wednesday.
The Huskers ranked 11th nationally, averaging 15,429 fans per game at Pinnacle Bank Arena last season. It marked the second-highest total in school history, and the third straight year the Huskers averaged over 15,000 fans per game at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Medical care at the rodeo

North Platte, Neb. – June 6, 2016 – The cowboys and cowgirls at the Buffalo Bill Rodeo in North Platte are about to get some big help.
The Great Plains Health Sports Medicine Team will bring its new mobile medical trailer to each night of the Buffalo Bill Rodeo, June 15-18. Area athletes to compete in West Nebraska All-Star Games
The 2016 West Nebraska All-Star games will be held on Saturday, June 11 in Scottsbluff. The 32nd annual volleyball game will be played at 2 p.m. MDT at Cougar Palace. The 38th annual football game will be played at 7 p.m. MDT at Bearcat Stadium. A portion of the proceeds from the games benefit local charities in Scotts Bluff County. Senior First Nationals add four more wins
The North Platte First Nationals Senior Legion added four more wins at Bill Wood Field over the weekend. On Friday night North Platte needed only five innings to dispatch of Lincoln High 15-6. They faced Lincoln High again on Saturday in the first of two games on Saturday. Again it took just five innings for the First Nationals to pick up a 15-5 run rule victory. In the second game of the day, North Platte defeated McCook 10-2 in five innings. North Platte capped off the perfect weekend with a 6-2 win over Lincoln High on Sunday. The 4-0 weekend improves the First Nationals record to 12-1 on the season. They will face Hastings at home on Tuesday night in a Junior/Senior doubleheader beginning at 5 pm.
Season Comes to an End at NCAA Tournament

Clemson, S.C. – The 2016 Nebraska baseball season came to an end on Saturday afternoon at Doug Kingmore Stadium in Clemson, S.C., with a 4-1 loss to the Western Carolina Catamounts (31-30). The Huskers ended the season with a 37-22 record and made their second NCAA Regional appearance in the last three seasons.
