Astros take 2-1 series lead over Royals with 4-2 win

kc-royalsHOUSTON (AP) — Dallas Keuchel remained perfect at home with seven gutsy innings and Chris Carter homered Sunday, leading the Houston Astros to a 4-2 win over the Kansas City Royals to take a 2-1 lead in the American League Division Series.

(AP) — Ben Zobrist hit a go-ahead single in the seventh inning, reliever Wade Davis got replay help for a key pickoff in the ninth and the Kansas City Royals rallied from a three-run hole to beat the Houston Astros 5-4 on Friday, evening their AL Division Series at a game apiece.

McHugh pitches Astros to 5-2 win over Royals to open ALDS

kc-royalsKANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Houston Astros beat the Kansas City Royals at their own game Thursday night, relying on sharp pitching from Collin McHugh and stingy defense behind him for a 5-2 victory in the opener of their AL Division Series.

Royals to give Ventura start in Game 1 of ALDS

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Royals will start hard-throwing youngster Yordano Ventura in Game 1 of the AL Divisional Series, regardless of whether Kansas City plays the Yankees or Astros on Thursday night.

Cueto, Royals secure home-field with 6-1 win over Twins

kc-royalsMINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Salvador Perez added to his career-best home run total, Johnny Cueto tossed five solid innings and the Kansas City Royals secured home-field advantage throughout the postseason by beating the Minnesota Twins 6-1 on Sunday.

Gomes helps Royals beat White Sox 6-4

kc-royalsCHICAGO (AP) — Jonny Gomes drove in three runs, and the banged-up Kansas City Royals moved into a tie with Toronto for the AL’s best record with a 6-4 victory over the Chicago White Sox on Thursday night.

Hosmer, Royals beat White Sox 5-3 in 10 innings

kc-royalsCHICAGO (AP) — Eric Hosmer hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the top of the 10th inning, and the Kansas City Royals beat the Chicago White Sox 5-3 on Wednesday night to clinch home-field advantage in an AL Division Series.

Solo homers not enough for Royals in 4-2 loss to White Sox

kc-royalsCHICAGO (AP) — Eric Hosmer and Kendrys Morales homered and Johnny Cueto threw six quality innings, but the Kansas City Royals lost to the Chicago White Sox 4-2 on Tuesday night.

Denorfia’s HR in 11th gives Cubs 1-0 win over Royals

kc-royalsCHICAGO (AP) — Chris Denorfia hit a pinch-hit home run leading off the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Chicago Cubs a 1-0 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Monday night.
