NPCC Lady Knights Travel to Norfolk to Play in Hawks Classic

npccThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights travel to Norfolk to play in the Hawks Classic on November 6-7.

The Lady Knights will face the Des Moines Area Community College Lady Bears on Friday, November 6 at 2 pm and the Iowa Lakes Community College Lakers on Saturday November 7 at noon.

Lesiak bounces back, leads the region

Sometimes you have to fall to realize what you’re made of.

That proved true this year for Ethan Lesiak, a bull rider on the Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team. He’s currently leading the bull riding in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association’s Great Plains Region and is third in the national standings.

“It feels good-especially after last year,” said Lesiak. “I had a horrible year last year. I won a rodeo at Hastings, but I think that was the only one I rode at. I was in a slump, but now I’m back where I need to be and where I want to be.” Continue reading “Lesiak bounces back, leads the region”

AUDIO: NPCC Knights Fall to Dodge City on the Road

NPCC Knights LogoThe North Platte Community College Knights Basketball team lost to the Dodge City Community College Conquistadors 75-61 on Tuesday night on the road.

The Knights kept it close in the first half, only trailing by two 29-27 at the break.

Knights Head Coach Kevin O’Connor said, “We did some good things in the first half to take the lead.”

NPCC Lady Knights Basketball Goes 1-1 at Hampton Inn Classic

The North Platte Community College Lady Knights basketball team opened up their season by going 1-1 in the Hampton Inn Classic at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium.

On Saturday, the Lady Knights defeated the Midland University Junior Varsity Lady Warriors, 77-62.  The Lady Warriors led early and held a 22-19 lead at the end of the first quarter.  12 of the 22 points for the Lady Warriors were from three-point field goals.  Continue reading “NPCC Lady Knights Basketball Goes 1-1 at Hampton Inn Classic”

NPCC Lady Knights Basketball Opens Season at Hampton Inn Classic

hampton inn classicThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights Basketball team open the 2015-16 season this weekend at the Hampton Inn Classic at the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium on the South Campus of North Platte Community College.

On Saturday, October 31, the Lady Knights will play Midland University Junior Varsity at 7:30 pm.  Prior to the Lady Knights game at 5:30, Air Force Prep will play Eastern Wyoming College.

NPCC to Host Region IX Division II Volleyball Tournament

npcc region ixNorth Platte Community College will be the site of the National Junior College Athletic Association Region IX Division II Volleyball Tournament on October 30 – November 1.

The teams involved and the seedings are the Central Community College Lady raiders, who are seeded number one; the North Platte Community College Lady Knights, seeded number two; and Southeast Community College Lady Storm, seeded number three. MPCC Rodeo Team members lead regional standings

Winning two championships isn’t a bad way to wrap up the fall rodeo season. That’s just how the Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team finished over the weekend during the 50th annual North Dakota State University Bison Stampede in Fargo, N.D.

The rodeo was Friday and Saturday. Members ended up third as a team and took the top three places in bull riding.

NPCC Lady Knight Volleyball Goes 1-1 on Final Day of Triton Invite

makenna ketterThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team finished their regular season by going one and one on the final day of the Triton Invitational.

The Lady Knights finish the regular season with a 15-21 record.

NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball Goes 1-1 on Day One of Triton Invite

npcc knightsThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team split their matches at the Triton Invitational.

In the first match of the day, the Lady Knights defeated the North Iowa Community College Lady Trojans in four sets 25-21, 16-25, 25-21, 25-14.  The Lady Knights had three players in double digits in kills led by MaKenna Ketter with 16.  Aryn Meisinger added 14 and Jessica Lovitt had 11.  Megan Chintala had 28 defensive digs in the match.  Continue reading “NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball Goes 1-1 on Day One of Triton Invite”
