Storm stay close, drop to Sioux City, 5-3

stormSioux City, Ia. – The Tri-City Storm stayed within striking distance of the Sioux City Musketeers, but fell, 5-3, Saturday from the Tyson Events Center.

The game had a back-and-forth feel; the Storm never trailed by more than two and brought the game within a goal three different times.

NPCC Lady Knight Volleyball Goes 1-1 on Final Day of Triton Invite

makenna ketterThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team finished their regular season by going one and one on the final day of the Triton Invitational.

The Lady Knights finish the regular season with a 15-21 record.

NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball Goes 1-1 on Day One of Triton Invite

npcc knightsThe North Platte Community College Lady Knights volleyball team split their matches at the Triton Invitational.

In the first match of the day, the Lady Knights defeated the North Iowa Community College Lady Trojans in four sets 25-21, 16-25, 25-21, 25-14.  The Lady Knights had three players in double digits in kills led by MaKenna Ketter with 16.  Aryn Meisinger added 14 and Jessica Lovitt had 11.  Megan Chintala had 28 defensive digs in the match.  Continue reading “NPCC Lady Knights Volleyball Goes 1-1 on Day One of Triton Invite”

Nebraska Gets Ready For Northwestern

Lincoln, Neb.- The Nebraska football team practiced for just over an hour without pads in the Hawks Championship Center on Thursday in preparation for Saturday’s game against Northwestern.

Coach Mike Riley first addressed injuries. Players that will not play Saturday include Luke Gifford, Chris Weber, David Knevel, Kevin Williams and Kevin Maurice. The players returning from injury include Freedom Akinmoladun, Michael Rose-Ivey, Nick Gates, Daniel Davie and David Sutton.

Coach Riley also touched on two things that the team wants to do well on Saturday.

NCA Girls Golf Super-State Selections

golfThe Nebraska Coaches Association (NCA) announces the 2015 Nebraska High School Super-State Girls’ Golf Team.  Super-State is an all class honor determined annually by the NCA Golf Sports Advisory Committee.

Classification comparisons are based solely on the athletes’ performance at the NSAA State Championships. Considerations include course par, total yardage, rating, slope and weather conditions each day. Continue reading “NCA Girls Golf Super-State Selections”
