Storm enters holiday break on six-game point streak

stormThe Tri-City Storm enters the holiday break on a six-game point streak, its longest of the season and tied for longest in the USHL. The Storm’s Wade Allison sniped a USHL-best four goals in Tri-City’s pair of weekend wins.

Friday at Sioux City, Allison recorded his first USHL hat trick, including the overtime game-winning tally, to push the Storm to a 3-2 win. Storm stay close, drop to Sioux City, 5-3

stormSioux City, Ia. – The Tri-City Storm stayed within striking distance of the Sioux City Musketeers, but fell, 5-3, Saturday from the Tyson Events Center.

The game had a back-and-forth feel; the Storm never trailed by more than two and brought the game within a goal three different times.

Storm F Kaiser commits to Western Michigan

Kearney, Ne. – Storm forward Bobby Kaiser was born and raised in Michigan, developing his hockey talents before coming to Tri-City. He is moving back to the Great Lakes State for college.

Kaiser, 18, announced his verbal commitment to play Division I college hockey for Western Michigan University late Monday.

Kielly named USHL Goaltender of the Week

Kearney, Ne. – Storm goalie Jake Kielly has been named CCM “Goaltender of the Week” for week two of the regular season, the USHL announcedMonday.

Jake Kielly earned a 31-save shutout in his first USHL start, a 2-0 win over the Chicago Steel. Kielly started strong with eight saves in the first period and made 23 saves over the final two periods to secure the win. Continue reading “Kielly named USHL Goaltender of the Week”

Storm acquire draft pick from Bucs for Gobetz

Kearney, Ne. – The Tri-City Storm have acquired a fifth-round, Phase I draft pick in the 2016 USHL Entry Draft from the Des Moines Buccaneers in exchange for defenseman James Gobetz, Head Coach and General Manager Bill Muckalt announced Sunday.

Storm add Nicholas Nardella to Affiliate List

Kearney, Ne. – The Tri-City Storm has added forward Nicholas Nardella to the team’s Affiliate List, Head Coach and General Manager Bill Muckalt announced.

Marino named Defenseman of the Week

Kearney, Ne. – Storm defenseman John Marino has been named CCM “Defenseman of the Week” for week one of the regular season, the USHL announced Monday.

Marino netted three assists Friday in the season opener, a 5-1 win against the Omaha Lancers, and is tied with Bloomington’s Jeremy Davies for the most points by a defenseman in the league. Dello named captain, assistant captains announced

stormKearney, Ne. – Storm Head Coach and General Manager Bill Muckalt announced defenseman Tory Dello has been named team captain for the 2015-16 season and Dan Labosky, Jake Wahlin and Mattias Goransson have been tabbed as assistant captains.
